INVOCATION TO HECATE
WELCOME TO THE RITES OF THE LESSER MYSTERIES
INVOCATIONS TO DEMETER AND KORE
THE LESSER MYSTERIES OF ELEUSIS

These Rites are adapted from
Mysteries of Demeter: Rebirth of the Pagan Way
by Jennifer Reif  (Samuel Weiser, 1999).
I participated as the Priestess of Hecate in the Temple of Demeter in 1994
when many of the Rites in this book were enacted

Like an Isian Ritual which I participate in at this time each year,
this Demetrian Ritual is a Purification of the Initiate
followed by a Dedication/Consecration to the Goddess.
It is normally done in the Spring calendar-wise
but think of us as being in the Spring of our Eleusian Mysteries class

You can enter the Mystery pages one at a time
or enter each page from the previous one.
There are parts for Priestesses and Initiates and All
You'll get to experience each of them
although the focus is that You are the Initiate
There are some Ritual items - use what you have and your imagination!

At the end is a poem by Jennifer.

These Rites are facilitated by the Priestess of Hecate,
She Whose magic weaves through the web of the world
